As mentioned in my previous post, I have relocated temporarily to the sunnier climes of Melbourne, Australia. The weather has been rubbish since I arrived but now the sun is starting to come out as we head into Summer and with it, I am noticing a significant increase in the number of sets on the street. In this post I’ll be talking about my first impressions of the city and it’s daygame up until this point. Spoiler alert… it’s SHIT…
When I first found out I’d be coming here I started asking around my now extensive network of tier 1 daygame wings as to their thoughts on daygame in Australia’s second biggest city. Pretty much everyone that had been there or knew of someone that had been told me that it was crap, all except Craig Cassidy. He said it was great and he pulled plenty when he was here for a week, I had nothing to worry about! From what I have seen so far, Mr Cassidy is either a God who instead of turning water into wine, turns 5’s into 8’s, or, he got very lucky that week.
I took my first walk around the city the day after landing, it was a chilly, grey muggy day and as I arrived in the city centre I couldn’t help but notice that I didn’t have one ounce of the new city excitement you normally get when you first arrive in a new city. Granted I wasn’t here on a daygame jaunt and I was heavily jet lagged, but my vibe was shit and I took an instant dislike to the place.
I reassured myself that I had to give it time, I made a plan to explore the city and if a set presented itself, I would open, if not, no worries. I walked around for two hours “exploring”. The most shocking thing for me was the quantity of Asians, had I come to China or Australia?! I very rarely open Asians because I simply don’t find them attractive, it is one of the biggest gamma tells if you spot a daygamer who enjoys opening Asians.
I had never been surrounded by so many of them, I noticed how that when there are large numbers of them, they seem to lose whatever sense of spatial awareness they have. Groups of the little fuckers kept bumping into me and it was NOT helping my vibe.
Occasionally I would see a white presumably Australian face scattered amongst the sea of aimlessly wandering Asians. The majority of the women seemed to be either fat, lesbian, hipster, gothic or a combination of the lot. I was repulsed. The majority of the men looked more like women and were out of shape with terrible fashion. When I did spot a relatively good looking male with good physique and fashion, he had a 5 on his arm. JESUS.
I established on that first day that the daygame would be an uphill struggle and lowered my expectations/odds of getting laid to almost zero.
Despite this, the city itself is actually very pretty, in the CBD there are lots of skyscrapers organised in a grid like fashion, much like I would expect New York to be like. The Yara river separates the North from the South, from what I have seen so far, the Yuppies tend to congregate on the South side and the hipsters on the North. There are lots of cool bars and restaurants. The produce in the supermarkets is ridiculously fresh, the coffee is amazing, I’ve been to about 20 different coffee shops now and am still to have a bad long black (they don’t do americano here) and most of the local beers are good. Everything is very Australian and they don’t seem to have succumbed to globalism, yet. I like this. The people are so polite that I found it slightly uncomfortable to begin with. I recall going to my local supermarket the day I landed, as I took my groceries the check-out girl (not hot of course) started commenting on all of my purchases. I just stood there looking very confused until it was time to pay. The only drawback to Melbourne as a city to live in is the cost of living, but my local colleagues seem to getting paid to cover this so I guess it’s all relative. So as a city to actually live in, Melbourne gets a big thumbs up.
It is now almost two months since my maiden voyage and things haven’t changed much. Have a look at these depressing statistics which tell the story succinctly…
|Sets||Number||FB||Flake||Date Flake||idate||Date||Near Miss||Lays|
I know what you are going to say, 26 sets is not a big enough sample size to judge a city, that is partly true and that is why I have waited so long to do a post. However, I have gone out on 20 daygame sessions now and am averaging 1.3 sets each time. My typical session time is around 2 hours. So in a city centre of 4 million people I see an average of one 7 or above every two hours.
Out of the 20 sessions, I didn’t open on 9 of them. Previous to coming to Melbourne I think there has only ever been 3 or 4 times in over three years of daygame where I went out to do daygame and didn’t do one set. I quickly realised that I was wasting my time with little to no reward, so I decided to start listening to Joe Rogan podcasts as I wandered the streets, this is something I have never done previously as I am normally distracted by a hot woman walking by every few minutes or so.
When I did open it normally went quite well, despite typically not being “in state” due to the lack of sets. I’ve only had a handful of blowouts, most of which have been polite. I got 9 numbers out of the the 26 sets, 8 of which replied, one I got out on a date, one I am still texting and 6 which stopped replying when I invited them out.
The one date I had was with an Asian (I know!) air hostess who I closed earlier the same day as she left the following day. It was one drink and I didn’t even get a kiss on the lips.
Daygame was deeply depressing considering the epic highs I experienced earlier in the year. I went out at night time with some work chodes a few times and noticed that I saw more hot girls in this environment. I drunkenly opened a few sets and got a few numbers, none of which replied. I dislike night game at the best of times, but when I don’t have a decent wing it is even more pointless.
This led me to something I never thought I would consider being the daygame purist I am. I downloaded Tinder. I understand if you unsubscribe to the blog at this point, it was nice having you.
I went on one date from Tinder with a pretty local girl (who looks Asian as her grandparents are vietnamese), the first date went well and she came back to mine and I banged her raw. Since then I’ve seen her a few more times but she has become very clingy which has killed off whatever small amount of attraction I had left for her after the first bang. I gave her the talk the other day so I doubt I will see her again.
It’s all uphill from here
This post may sound like I am complaining a lot, mainly because I am. But, I’m still optimistic for Melbourne. The statistics above are all before this weekend. I went out daygaming on Friday and Saturday in the sunshine and there was a lot more to shoot at and I have quite a few leads in my phone. So hopefully, the next post will be a long overdue lay report.
 This made it a lot easier to forget about the dire quality. I tried listening to Jordan Peterson as I walked but his content is quite heavy and requires your full attention. Joe Rogan is funny and he often has interesting guests. I highly recommend episode #911 with Alex Jones, hilarious and insightful.
